KEC International has announced an order for a 400-kV transmission line in Oman, adding to its international transmission and distribution work.

The contractor’s October 23 release places the award within ₹1,006 crore of combined orders across transmission, civil works, cables and conductors in several markets.

That total is not the individual value of the Oman contract. The release does not name the Oman customer or disclose the line’s route, length, connected substations or commissioning schedule.

Awarded work is not energized infrastructure

Engineering analysis: high-voltage corridors carry electricity between network nodes and demand areas. Their actual contribution depends on electrical configuration, equipment capability and the system into which they connect.

The verified announcement establishes an order, not completed construction or energization. Claims about increased transfer capability or reliability performance would require project documentation and, ultimately, evidence from commissioning and operation.
