Akaysha Energy announced on October 20 that it refinanced project-level borrowing into an A$1.75 billion portfolio financing facility backed by eleven banks.
The refinancing covers Brendale, Orana, Ulinda Park and Elaine. Akaysha said Elaine began construction in October 2025 and is targeting completion in the second half of 2027. The company separately identified Brendale, Orana, Ulinda Park and Waratah as fully operational.
The package includes facilities with five-, seven- and ten-year terms, plus revolving liquidity and contingent-instrument arrangements. Akaysha says the structure supports flexibility as it advances an Australian development pipeline of approximately 6 GW and 25 GWh.
The distinction is important: this is portfolio refinancing, not A$1.75 billion committed exclusively to new construction. The pipeline figures do not represent commissioned storage, and the named operating and construction assets have different statuses.
For electricity infrastructure, the development shows how multiple batteries can be financed within one platform. Future project commitments, connection progress and commissioning dates will show how that financial flexibility translates into additional operating storage.
